About the Author

Ms. Julie Đặng is the author of Cà Insider, Vietnam’s first coffee book series that presents coffee knowledge in clear thematic sections. The series began with its first edition, Sensory – Touching Coffee Through All Senses, designed to help readers fully experience and appreciate coffee.

With over a decade of professional experience in the food service, restaurant, and hospitality sectors, Ms. Julie Đặng has worked extensively in consulting, training, and developing practical solutions for the coffee and hospitality sectors. She is the founder, head trainer and senior advisor of Vietnam Barista School, a leading specialty coffee education institution in Vietnam. In addition, Ms. Julie currently holds the following positions:

• President of Global Coffee School (GSC) in Vietnam 
• Professional trainers authorized by: The Specialty Coffee Association (SCA); SCENTONE (Korea); Latte Art Grading System (LAGS) and The Coffee Quality Institute (CQI).

Since 2017 Ms. Julie Dang has participated in more than 24 international competitions across 10 countries either as a head judge, technical judge or sensory judge. She has also coached many Vietnamese contestants to participate in many barista and specialty coffee competitions.
