Because of its special velvet surface, Mi-Teintes® Velvet paper is perfect for pastel work. Several layers of pigment can be applied, avoiding saturation effects. Its texture holds the pigments very well without the need for a fixative. This paper is ideal for working with soft or dry pastels in order to play with thickness, or with pencils to achieve greater precision. It offers the possibility to create perfect unlayered colours from the very first application. It is less abrasive than a sanded paper, so less pigment is used. Mi-Teintes® Velvet is also resistant to wet techniques, particularly when applying a base with paint.
